New Mercedes

Oscar drove his brand new Mercedes to his favorite sporting goods store. He parked it outside and went in to do a little perusing with Jan, his regular sales woman.

Jan was a pretty blonde, and as Oscar walked into the store, she happily greeted him. But he requested to look around alone today before he needed her help. She obliged and let him do his thing.

Five minutes later, Jan came running up to him yelling,
"Oscar! Oscar! I just saw someone driving off with your new Mercedes!"

"Oh no! Did you try to stop him?"

"No," she said, "I did better than that! I got the license plate number!"

オスカーは、購入したばかりのメルセデスに乗り、御用たちのスポーツ店に行った。車を外に駐車し、店内に入って、いつも彼を案内するセールスウーマンのジェーンに車に関する新しい情報をきこうとした。

ジェーンはかわいらしい金髪女性で、オスカーが店に入ると、笑顔で彼を迎えた。しかし、オスカーは、今日はまず一人で色々と見て、その後彼女に手伝ってもらいたいと言う。彼女は頷き、彼を一人にさせてあげた。

５分後、ジェーンは彼に向かって走ってくるなりこう叫んだ。
「オスカー！オスカー！たった今誰かがあなたの新車に乗ってどこかに行ってしまったわ！」

「オーノー！君はそいつを捕まえようとしたのか！」

彼女は言った。「いや、もっといいことをしたわ！ナンバープレートの番号を控えたの！」
