Drowning

Standing at the edge of the lake, a man saw his wife flailing about in the deep water. Unable to swim, the man started to scream for help. A fisherman ran up.

The man said, "My wife is drowning and I can't swim. Please save her. I"ll give you a hundred dollars."

The fisherman dove into the water. In ten powerful strokes, he reached the woman, put his arm around her, and swam back to shore.

Depositing her at the feet of the man, the fisherman said, "Okay, where's my hundred?"

The man said, "Look, at first, I thought it was my wife. But it's actually my mother-in-law."

The fisherman reached into his pocket and said, "Just my luck. How much do I owe you?

溺れてる

湖のほとりに立っていたとある男が、自分の妻が溺れているのを発見した。彼は泳げないので、大声で叫んで助けを求めた。すると漁師が駆け寄ってきた。

男は言った。「妻が溺れてるんですが、私は泳げないんです。妻を助けてください。お礼に100ドル差し上げますから」

漁師は湖に飛び込んだ。10回の力強いストロークで彼女の元へたどり着き、彼女を抱えて岸まで戻ってきた。

男の足元に彼女を置き、漁師はこう言った。
「オーケー。100ドルは？」

男は言った。「えっと、最初は溺れてるのは私の妻だと思ったんですが、実は義理の母でした」

それを聞いた漁師はポケットの中に手を突っ込みこう言った。「またやっちまった。幾ら払えばかね？」
